The action takes place at the beginning of the 20th century in Sicily, in the fictional city of San Celeste. The main character is Enzo Favara, a young man who grew up under harsh conditions working in sulfur mines. Seeking to escape poverty, he joins the Torrizi crime family, immersing himself in the world of the Mafia, where honor, loyalty, and brutality reign.
