Redesigned Joy-Con with Mouse Functionality

The Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically to the console for a secure and easy connection. Each Joy-Con 2 can function as a mouse — simply glide it across a surface like a table or your lap. Built-in sensors track horizontal movement, making it ideal for precision control in games like strategy titles, puzzle games, or aiming-based gameplay.

Enhanced Performance

The new CPU and GPU deliver significantly improved performance over the original Switch. Players can now enjoy up to 4K resolution via docked mode and up to 120 fps in supported games.

Advanced Display and Audio

Nintendo Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch LCD display with Full HD 1080p resolution. Audio has also been upgraded with immersive 3D spatial sound support, delivering a clearer and more natural sound experience in handheld or tabletop mode.

Built-in GameChat and Camera Support

GameChat enables voice and video communication with up to 12 players. The console includes a built-in microphone and supports external USB-C cameras for video chat. Players can share screens and see each other’s reactions while playing together.

GameShare and Virtual Game Cards

With GameShare, a player who owns a compatible game can invite friends to play — even if they don’t own the game — via local or online play. This is ideal for multiplayer and co-op experiences. Virtual game cards allow users to access their digital game library across two consoles or within a Nintendo Account family group, even offline.

Compatibility and Storage

Nintendo Switch 2 supports physical and digital games from the original Switch, as well as existing accessories like Joy-Con and Pro Controllers. The console includes 256 GB of internal storage and supports microSD Express cards for faster data access.

Expanded Parental Controls and Accessibility

Parents can limit playtime and manage GameChat access through the updated Parental Control app. Accessibility features include adjustable font sizes, a screen reader, and speech-to-text support in GameChat.

Launch Titles

At launch, Nintendo Switch 2 will feature Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4, upgraded versions of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and more.
